Rick Marty
Rick Marty is currently the Operations Manager for Off Duty Law Enforcement Officers and an Instructor for P4 Security Solutions. Rick has 28 years combined experience with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) and the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice (IDJJ), with the last 18 years at a Supervisory/ Administrative level. Rick has always had the drive to do more, and at the start of his second year, he was the lead trainer at Stateville Correctional Center responsible for the continuing education of over 1200 employees. He holds instructor certifications for Firearms Instructor through the Il Law Enforcement Training Board, First Aid/ CPR/ AED Instructor, Sexual Harassment & Discrimination, Cultural Diversity, Chemical Agents, HazMat First Responder, and Crisis Prevention Institute. To ensure his effectiveness as a trainer, Rick also attended a 40-hour course focused on enhanced techniques for adult education.
As a full-time trainer for IDOC, Rick has logged over 16K hours of classroom instruction. During this time, Rick also served as an adjunct trainer for new cadet classes at the IDOC Academy in Springfield. Rick was promoted into a supervisory role in 2002 and has continued to assist as an adjunct trainer for the IDJJ Academy in Springfield for incoming cadet classes.
Continuing education has always been a priority for Rick, as he continued to attend classes to ensure personal growth, and has received certificates for Drug Screener, Bureau of Identification Tech, Investigator, Critical Incident and Command, and Labor Relations.
The opening or closing of a Correctional facility is a rare event, and Rick is one of the few employees who has had the unique experience of being part of an administrative team that participated in both during his active career. Reflecting at his rise through the ranks, he has held the rank/position of Lieutenant, Captain, Chief of Security, Superintendent of Operations, and Chief of Internal Affairs (IYC St. Charles). During his time as a supervisor/ administrator, Rick enjoyed the opportunity to develop newly promoted supervisors to ensure they were given the necessary tools to be effective and successful in their new roles as leaders in the industry.
During his time away from work, Rick served as an assistant coach for a full-time travel baseball team, an assistant coach for a part-time travel softball team, and as an assistant coach for a boys football team. He used these opportunities to instill core values into the boys and girls of teamwork, commitment, and humility in victory and in defeat. Rick enjoys time outside as his hobbies include golf, cycling, and boating. Rick actually made his first hole-in-one at an event sponsored by P4 Security in 2019 at Silver Lakes Country Club.
